| I bought my daughter a California King Snake, we will be bringing it home next weekend (I had the person hold it for the week) and now we ned to get things setup. I looked around and came up with this as the best Care Sheet any input would be greatly appreciated. |

| I don`t know how big it is, but if it`s a little juvenile,I would keep it on newspaper or a towel to keep it from ingesting bark or other pieces of the substrate. If it`s grown, you can keep it on reptilebark. Give it 2 hides, one on the cold part, and one on the warm part of the enclosure. You should also provide a shallow waterbowl so it can have a drink, or take a little bath before shredding. Please post pictures regards Robin | |

| Yeah it is still a juvenile, so I'll go with the reptile carpet (that looks more nice)
I'll put up pics when I bring it home...
PS: I'll put up pics of all the other creatures that I (we) keep too. |

I belive you Towles and newspaper is a ugly but safe and cheap sollution Never heard of any thing like reptile carpet in Norway before, but it looks nice. Know some people that breed different animals use tiles in their enclosures. Regards Robin | |

| Yup that sounds pretty good, and caution that alot of CalKings will musk when first being handled, so try to keep the bottom end away from you our anybody else, and have a towel/rag handy for the clean up....W | |

| Thats a beautiful snake - Venom wrote:

Try to cover the snakes head with a towel when you pick it up, this normally keep the snake from biting you. When you finally have it in your hand, it`s rather unusual that it will bite you.
