| Hello Scorpion Lovers! My friend (who also lives in Santa Cruz, California) keeps finding little scorpions in her house. She found one a couple of days ago and gave it to me to identify. She would like to know if the venom is dangerous enough for her to worry about. I would like to keep him/her, so I would like to ID it to know how to properly take care of it. I can try to take a better photo if you want to see something in particular better. Here is a photo that I snapped this morning: [/URL] Any push in the right direction is appreciated.

| He's about an inch and a half with the tail, maybe 3/4" without the tail. | |

| That might be him. Why do you say lucky? If you want some I can hook you up. The next time she finds one I can send it your way, since you are in SJ. -Donna | |

| Donna, that would be really super cool of you! Honestly, I've gone to a couple spots in the mountains and couldn't find a single one with my UV light. I've been wanting to start a colony of U. mordax for over a year now! Can you believe it? If you can get more, definitely let me know! | |

| No problem. I'll let my friend know to keep them when she finds them. | |

| We found another one last night. I don't know their sex. You are welcome to have both of them. We are moving this summer and if you don't want them I'm just going to let them go before we move. | |
