| I have my Emps set up in a 20 longs each has a 50 watt red heat bulb on one side take... Is lower 90's too high on the hot side? | |

| As long as you have a cool side (78-80), you should be fine, especially with such a large (wide) tank. The ideal temp for an Emp is around 85F so that's what I try to shoot for in the middle of my enclosure. On a collecting expedition in Togo, temps in Emperor burrows were found to be in the high 80s to low 90s during the middle of the day. Here's a video (turn on English captions). | |
