| i know based on facts and research that scorpions cant jump. so here are two scenarios: 1). so i left the lid open so i can visualizing how to improve my l.waigiensis' enclosure. i watched as it climbed a stone that almost at the same level as the tub's rim with pedipalps desperately trying to reach the rim. i was astonished when it leaped like a jumping spider towards the rim.. (disclaimer: i may have been a little drunk when this happened, so pardon me LOL) 2). my female p.trans recently (last week) molted to 7i and i figured i'll rehouse it in a cleaner but plain enclosure this time. so when i opened the lid and tried grasping the telson with a tweezer, i was surprised that it sprang in a diagonal direction towards me (about 4-5 inches high above the ground). luckily, it fell down inside the new enclosure lol.. i noticed the way it used its tail to spring itself upwards due to it being startled haha any thoughts on this? | |

| I have witnessed my Opistacanthus capensis jump off of my hand while holding them. They don't just fall off my hand but make a little leap of about 2cm lol. | |

| I should think that it would classify more as a lunge than a jump? since that would be same principal action for attacking prey.... | |

| Depends what you define lunge as? Lunge can mean it leaves the surface on which it is standing or not but jump always leaves the surface. | |

| both didn't jump/leap in a downward direction. if so, that wouldn't classify as an actual vertical/diagonal jump. the first one looked like it leaped straight horizontally but the p.trans.. man, that was a SHOCKER! hope to catch it on video next time lol | |
