| Subject: H.Arizonensis molt issue....help! 6/13/2008, 3:23 pm | |
| I wish I had a camera that would take decent pictures, but the s'ling seems like it's in premolt.
tail seems to have a new tail growing underneath it, exo seems to want to crack open, telson bulb isn't hanging down like a normal stinger should when the scorp has it up. it's almost as if it's permanently stiffened in a horizontal position.
pre-molt issue? i've added a tiny bit of moisture to the enlcosure sides to raise the humidity just a tiny bit and even offered food to see if it would eat. nothing has happened and this has been an issue for a week now.
help. | |

| just let it be. If you have multiple hides spray a tiny bit of water under on of them to OFFER them some humidity without actually forcing it on them. I have had the same problem with my S. vachoni for almost a year now it's tail is still all stiff and it has yet to molt. | |

| Like Eddy said I would leave it alone and offer humidity areas to go. Let nature takes its course. | |

| these can do badly anyway with moulting. I dont know what it is about the husbandry, I guess we as humans with the tank set ups cant create what nature can create for them in the wild. Im "this close" to buying some scorplings *due in next week* but after reading so many reports of failed moulting attempts, I think im going to give it a miss. Whats been suggested is very good. I guess all you can do is that, wait and hope for the best Good luck scorpion! xxxx | |

| The problem is that people try offering humidity in different ways but none are effective because they alway mess up. Mine are doing great and all I do is occasionaly mist one hide out of three. | |
