| Here is the OBT I recieved about 2 days ago. This is a pic of him in his new conditions. When I received this guy he was in an arboreal setup...they arent arboreal haha, his cage had mold and mites crawling and growing, and all of his molts were left in the cage and had a huge mold pile under them. He was also kept way too humid. These guys arent a humid species!!! Also he had no water dish.... Anyway here is his new cage and I know he is gonna be a lot happier. (The transfer was very scary there bites hurt and they are extremely fast and aggressive haha). | |

| One of the few Ts I ever owned. Beautiful to look at but yes very fast aggressive species. I can raise and breed scorpions but was never able to keep my T s alive | |

| Really? OBT's are literally impossible to kill haha. I believe the conditions I received this guy in he wasnt going to last long though I am glad I changed up his living arrangments. It was the scariest thing making the transfer though I literally almost had him in my hands! So freaking sketchy haha. | |

| Well I had a 60 gallon communal tank that was given to me. A few died most lived but I couldn't handle the responsibility I gave it away. | |

| I would never try a communal set up on my own. This one was established and given to me years ago. | |

| I have heard that Holothele incei can be kept communal, how true this is I don't know. That is a beautiful T! I love OBT's, his attitude sounds a lot like my P.irminia. Even when my shadow falls over her she goes into her defensive position, pretty cute from behind the glass | |

| Ya all of them are cannibalistic but there are a select few that are less cannibalistic and I guess we can call these communal T's haha. Thanks! I love it I believe it just molted too so its colors are ridiculous Ya I almost had to hold my OBT to get him transferred I got so shaky I was nervous as hell definitely dont wanna get bit. Definitely cool behind the glass though ill give you that | |

| Lol this thread brings back memories. OBT's are amazing, they make cobalt blues look like puppy dogs.

Yeah, they're communal. (Cornell has a bunch.) I know that Avicularia and Poecilotheria have been kept communally with limited success.

| My friend kept Avicularia avicularia in a colony, worked great, you just gotta make sure you have ample space and feed em constantly.
Pokies? now thats interesting.

| I love pokies. I'd try a communal enclosure, if they weren't so expensive. I don't want to risk several hundred dollars worth of T's going nom nom nom on each other though, just in case. | |

| Depends how often you feed them. Thats up to the keeper. If you decide you wanna only keep one or two, just stop feeding them and they will do the rest. | |

| Unless you're breeding, avics usually don't get along too well, as some may state. Honestly I've never seen the plus side to keep them communal. Just dead tarantulas haha. Its like knowing two animals may eat each other and going...hmmmm nah I think this is a better life for them . Its silly.
If I were to do it though I would only keep P.murinus communal as they usually have a pretty good success rate.
