my emporor scorpion just flopped but he was all good 2 hours or so ago

ok people i have a question about my emporor scorpion i was haveing a normal day with my emp picked him up he was all scorpion like and i put him back like not even 2hours pass hes laying down FLAT under the heat lamp looks dead feels dead dont smell dead and has been laying there for 1 day and i dont know what to do because he has a hide water proper cocofiber proper humidity and wont respond to anythink i do like drop very little water on his body touch him with a paint brush. Im convenced hes eather A in his molting stage, B dead, now i looked at his telson a and ite a yellow ish red outlined so hes not an adult and he was perfectley fine for what i think he has not been eating the last few days and i just need a little bit of input on anyones behalf to determen the status on my scorpion

He could be dead or getting ready to molt. Since I can't see him it's pretty hard to say which. Also what were/are the keeping conditions? Humidity levels? Temps? Feeding intervals? If you're picking up and handling your emp often maybe he died of stress? Maybe you introduced a pesticide or poison. Or maybe he just died for no good reason. What is the position of the tail? Stretched out flat or question mark side curl? How fat is he?

Maybe take a picture of him and his enclosure?

Looks dead to me. The tail is the main indicator in this case.

Over handling can cause huge amounts of stress, enough to kill.

Another killer is contamination of the hands. Bacteria and chemicals (soaps, cleaners, even hand sanitizers) can be absorbed by the scorpion that can cause illness and death. This is why I avoid handling of my scorpions unless I must.

Lastly, sometimes they just die from unknown causes.

I would say %100 dead. By position and how he doesn't look at all pre molt. From the pic it's kinda tough to tell but he could be full grown and if wild caught it would be impossible to tell age. So it could have just been his time.

it's pretty dead. Enclosure looks very dry to me. Being a tropical specie they require high humidity. Could of been that or constant handling as other have said. Hard to tell from the picture but it looks like the telson is creamy looking not a dark red. So it might have still been a Juv but doesn't look like any molt i've ever seen.

I noticed the substrate appears very dry as well. In the OP, the humidity was said to be correct so I didn't say anything.
