My E.Italicus and V.Carolinianus Empty
PostSubject: My E.Italicus and V.Carolinianus   My E.Italicus and V.Carolinianus Empty9/17/2012, 1:56 pm

Just thought I'd out an official picture thread up. Will most likely update now and again Smile

First up are my three E.Italicus. The 1st 2 have moulted within the last 24 hours;

No 1 and the first to moult whilst with me into 3i

My E.Italicus and V.Carolinianus EItalicusi-1709122

No 2 and coincidentally the second to moult also into 3i

My E.Italicus and V.Carolinianus Italicusii-170912

and last but not least of the E.Italicus - this one is yet to moult since coming to me so is still 2i

My E.Italicus and V.Carolinianus Italicusiii-170912

I'll post pictures of the 4 V.Carolinianus later Smile

Nice one!! What temps have you got them at? I've got a few from that brood looking a bit pre-moult but no moults yet.

They look quite ghostly straight after a moult don't they lol.

They do look ghostly - it makes them look quite vulnerable as well compared to the tank like look they usually have Smile

I've got them at room temperature in the living room. It's a good temperature as my wife doesn't like it too cold and in a nice quiet corner.

Keep small specimens such as these does require more patience from keepers.

Nice shots. I like size comparison pics. It makes them even cuter than they already are.

Thanks for posting these up Smile

Nice shots as GS mentioned!

It's always rewarding once you raise something like these successfully into adulthood.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
Definitely will take a lot of patience looking after these small guys. However, it will be great to see them grow which is one of the advantages of starting this thread as I can also use it to document their growth Smile

They're great little scorps - I might have to look at some of the other Euscorpius species when I'm ready to add to my collection Smile

So here is the 3rd E.Italicus that moulted this weekend. It's not a good picture as I tried to take it in the new enclosure as I didn't want to disturb it too much

One of the V. Carolinianus has finally molted and will post a picture later if there is much of a difference.

The only other update is that over the last few weeks I have managed to lose a few Sad

Thanks exoticvirus - your reply also reminded me to take photo but need to find the lead to connect to my computer lol. Having said that the difference between to 2 molts might not be that big to justify another pic.
