| i was hoping its not an adult, but i read somewhere that males are smaller than females, so i thought maybe it was an adult male. but i dont know how big they get either. | |

| Doesn't look like a mature male, MMs will look thinner and much more "leggy." Males will have club shaped pedipalps as adults.

-female tarantulas molt up until death while males stop molting when they reach maturity. -female tarantulas live longer than males (brachypelma and grammostola species were reported to live up upto 20-30yrs, avicularia species live upto 6years, etc.). matured males usually die after a few months or maybe a year after maturing. -as for molting, intervals differ depending on the size and species of the tarantulas. hope this helped. | |

hope this helped. It does happen on occasion, that a male tarantula will molt after reaching maturity, however this is uncommon, and the tarantula usually dies during or shortly after the molt if this is the case. (Pedipalps usually get stuck in the old exo.)
