Just some advice on these. I know you can use IR bulbs, but what about these blue moonlight bulbs as an alternative?
Here is a link: www.reptiledirect.com.au/p/260/TMZ-422-Moonlight-Bulb-60W.html
All advice will be appreciated.

So not recommended? They say that these can be used for a night time heat source just like IR bulbs. They also say that the critters wont be disturbed by the blue light.

mine gave great heat! and they didnt seem to be disturbed, i dont think that they can see the uv light as with ir. i dont know if that uv thing is true or not. but so many people in hear says its a no go! so thats what i stick to :-) if the bulb makes them glow, then its a no go!

From what I have read its doesnt make the scorpion glow, so no UV. I just need a concrete answer on wether the light spectrum this gives off will disturb them at night.

This is also relevant to my interests! I was thinking about getting a blue bulb as well!
I just dont want to stress my little guy out, but I thought it might be interesting to give it a try. Has anyone tried out out since this post?

As it is turning into summer over here I wanted to know as I buy lower wattage bulbs for summer, but ended up buying IR lamps instead.

I should point out it will probably be a few days before I try out the bulb, so for anyone interested in my findings just check back here periodically.
