| I bought an emperor scorpion..I was reading on the false bottom method and have used it for amphibians but didnt know if it was good for a emperor scorpion with the burrowing.. U take a small piece of pvc pipe and put a notch into it..then u slide it down into one of the back corners of the cage with the notched side down..the notch needs to be big enough to let water through In the bottom of the tank u put 2-3 inches of pebbles that have been cleaned.. Then a screen cut to size over them..then your 4-6 inches of substrate. Pour water down the pipe in the back slowly until it fills 2/3rds of the rocks.. With a ceramic bulb it stays about 81 degrees at 85 % humidity. Thats the setup...Anyone think that screen with his little hooks on his feet would be a problem? I got him cuz he looked ragged..One of her legs dont work and she had 9 crickets in with her in a .5 gallon tank.. And she has a bulg on one side where her armor has sperated and is kinda blimping out..I assume its from being over fed but it may be were someone was a fool and dropped or squished her a bit.. Her name is Gimpius Maximus..and she is a warrior Any help would be appreciated:) | |

| The screening should be fine.
As for the bulge, it's not uncommon in emps. We don't really know what they are, the best guess seems to be the equivalent of a impaction or even a hernia. Be to be honest, we're not really sure what it is. The scorpion will probably be fine though. | |
