| I've had this gal for five months now. Hopefully, she'll be molting soon, although she still has quite the appetite. She's currently housed in a small critter keeper with loose sand and a cork bark hide. Once she gets bigger, I plan to move her to a 2.5 gallon tank with a little harder substrate (excavator clay+sand). - Photos from 1 December 2011:

| Sweet female you've got there Shebeen Yep, sometimes their moulting interval can be quite far apart. The longest interval i had was with the last moult to sexual maturity for a particular P.liosoma female, from 6 to 7.instar. It was a ten months wait! Once you see her agility slows down a great deal, she's hardly active.. not even during late nights.. & often stays in the following position, then she should be moulting within the next 1-2 weeks. - Typical Pre-moult stance:
As the moulting date gets near, her chela will most likely bend more and more inwards her chelicerae #1 #2

| Thanks for the tips GS. I'll keep an eye out for the pre-molt behavior you describe. I can't wait for this gal to grow up, but I guess I'll have to. I really like the coloration of this species. | |

| Can't agree more on the attractiveness of their coloration They are the "holy grail" of many keepers in the world. | |

| Actually, I think the A. australis hector you have in your avatar is even prettier. | |

| Three months later and eating with gusto. I guess she'll molt when she's ready. - Photos from 1 August 2012:
