Every time the cricket goes near it, it backs away and runs away from the cricket. Why, could it be the humidity or something

It's easier for others to offer you advice when you gives more background info.
Why would you suggest humidity? What are you offering her at the moment?

There are quite a few possible reasons, ranked in terms of possibility..

1. The Scorpion is simply not hungry
Does she look well-fed now?

2. The Scorpion is adjusting to her new enclosure/ tank
Did you just wild-collected or bought this scorpion?

3. Over-sized prey
How big is the offered cricket? The willingness to hunt down a larger prey goes hand in hand with the hunger level

4. Approaching a moult
However, if she is nearing a moult.. she would most likely just move away slowly with occasional flicking of her tail when the cricket gets near.. not likely to "run away" from the cricket like you have mentioned.. running away gives the impression of a startled scorpion..

It's good if you can put up some pics of her in the tank and mention how you are keeping her e.g temp, humidity

Regards,
GS

Hey Bobsten,

I have only had my Flinders Range Scorpion 4 weeks and when I give him some pray he has a tendency to move away.
He seems to study his pray first and then strike when the time is right.
Just let him go for a while and see what happens, they seem to be natural predators and mine is only 6 to 8 weeks old.
He happily takes down pray the same size as his body. I prefer to feed something smaller but my crickets are getting bigger. Will have to let them go or something and get some more small ones.
Not sure ware he stores it all when he eats it lol!
I feed my scorpion every 3 days.

Hope that helps

Tark
