flinders range scorpion questions

hi guys im new here so i am just learning how to use the fourm so any way in a few week i am planning on getting a flinders range scorpion and need a few questions answerd so here they are

1 do flinders range scorpions need a heat source
2 what substrate should i keep them on i was going to keep it on a substrate of sand and coco fibre mix
3 is a humidity level of 60-70% enough for them

The scientific name of the flinders range scorpion is Urodacus elongatus

To answer your questions, here is what I learned off the web:

1) If your area ranges between 20C to 30C which is 68 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit, you do not need a heat source. If you wish to get activity out of your scorpion, get a heat source (infrared heat bulb) and keep the temperature in the 80's.

2) The authors of these caresheets suggests a 50/50 mix of coco-fiber and soil.

3) The humidity is suggested to be 60-70%

By the way, they don't appear to do well in groups, so keep that in mind.

thanks for the reply but what soil do i use

just read somewhere tha they do well on soils that are on the dry side and It is advised to bake the sand or soil component of the substrate to kill fungal spores...so probably any potting soil will be ok as long as you bake it
