Cleaning Driftwood Empty
PostSubject: Cleaning Driftwood   Cleaning Driftwood Empty11/13/2011, 5:26 pm

I just got a great deal on a bunch of pieces of large drift wood. What is the best way to clean them for a pet tank? They are too big to boil in water. Would a nice soaking and scrubbing in hot water be enough?

Soak and scrub to get the loose stuff off them. When they are still wet throw them in the oven at about 225 F. It won't burn the wood, but it's hot enough to kill any microbes on them.
