| Sorry for your loss. Was it the mycosis or old age that did her in? I read a post that said almost all WC desert hairys have some amount of mycosis. Mine has a small spot on its pedipalp. I would go with the H. pallidus. I'm pretty sure that's the next one I'm getting. If you redo the tank, you get to watch the digging of new tunnels and burrows. | |

| Old age, got it. I should have finished reading the thread before replying. I'm glad to hear that mycosis doesn't spread under dry conditions. | |

You know you'll end up getting it sooner or later, so better be sooner What morph were they? AFAIK, they're pretty low maintenance though. No worries on the swammerdamis, If I'm successful, you and Bex will be the first ones getting some babies. My H. laoticus should be gravid by now too, but I can't really see yet if she's getting bigger or not (I think she is, but it's too early to say for sure).

| Cheers Richard, yeah I reckon old age because it didn't seem to spread and she was slowing down for a while then dragging her tail but never can be sure. I went to order the pallidus yesterday but as Tom said the place is moving at the mo so I'll have to wait.
Cheers Tom, unfortunately I'm away when the shows on. I got confused like I think we all did and thought it had already been but it was the reptile one, wish I could go though.
Well I've messaged this royal breeder back and said I'm still interested, hope I haven't left it too late. Knew I should have just got it lol they're spider morphs mate. They are low maintainance but what was puttng me off is everything eats crix and roaches at the mo and it's just another type of food going to have to buy.

| Spiders are nice! I'm taking a normal, can't really justify the price difference atm. As long as you take a hatchling and feed it from start with prekilled prey, even the feeding won't be such a big problem when you can buy frozen rodents on bulk. | |

| Cheers Bex, that does seem a good price, I'll check those out. Think it's more reccommended to feed royals rat pups though because they can be hard to wein off the mice when they start getting bigger, or so I've heard. Getting the snake at the end of the month, female spider, can't wait. | |

| Very cool man and mycosis free to top it off lol. Is it from the spider shop by any chance? Their Hadrurus are really decent prices.
Noticed they have got some Iomachus politus in for only £8.99. May have to scrape together some cash money and get a few to join my juvenile.

| Yeah was from the spidershop mate, also got a S. mesaensis.
They said all the arizonensis were really clean and mycosis free when I asked which is good.
They've only just added the Iomachus and a few others so they shouldn't be going anywhere for a lil while.

Cheers Richard, I finally got her I never will truly know whether it was mycosis or old age but the fact it didn't spread in 18months makes me think old age. - JamieLawrence wrote:

Cheers Dolby, well you definitely delivered on this one mate! Thanks GS, still trying to harness this twin flash, the light can be quite harsh at times. Cheers Will, unfortunately that enclosure is an OBT set-up now. I scraped it because of her having mycosis. Whether it could actually spread is another story but better safe than sorry. I mixed that excavator sand it with normal sand and a bit of coco, only about 30% excavator. In the process of making the new haddy set-up, then the epic drying starts! Venom drop you say? This is a little better. Not as big as Will's recent one but big scorp = lil' drop
