Considering I am having so much difficulty getting the "male" out of the burrow and they have been in there for 2 months or so and no spermatophore. How long until I can just assume that I bought another female instead of the male I thought he was? Another problem is I think that the sexed female may have one molt left. In the last 9 months I've had her she hasn't gotten any bigger though and the telson is pretty brown. Will the male still drop a spermatophore if she isn't mature yet? Thanks for answering the newb questions.

Sounds like your female is mature (telson color). It's also possible the female ate the spermatophore after mating.
Nine months is also the minimum gestation for this species; it can range up to 18.
You might just have to dig the "male" out and let us sex it to be sure.

Well I'm sure he will be out before the 9+ months is up. I'll just have to keep a close eye.

dig them up. Sometimes we have to dig them up to check if they are ok or to change the substrate. Dig them both up, take some pictures and put them back. It wont take them long to make it home again xxxx
