| I think you might drop some dead parts in there right now, but drop enough in there.. Chopped up mealworms work too. Make sure they are nice and juicy!
I'd wait untill most are off her back. Give a complete dead cricket to the mom perhaps. The leftovers will be given to the small ones too.. if she drops things by accident

i dont think they liked the salad of chopped meal worms and severed head crix i made them. jeez am i gonna have to remove every dead body piece in 24hrs?

| k ill take out the stuff in the day when they arent active so i dont get stung by 30 babies swarming me. i did drop in 4 small crix about the same size as the babies but i think ill tear up some more bodies and toss em in there. lastnight they didnt care for the dead pieces i left for em,at least i think.most of the stuff i dropped is pretty much still there. this is so cool though, theres baby scorps running around the viv, theyre so tiny!!!
would they swarm meal worms that are uncut?

| Make sure they cannot climb the sealant in the corners or they might be colonizing your house soon! :-)
They do climb sealant.. and actually, they do it very well!

| i figured they could climb the sealant.they can climb it all they want. i hot glued insect screen to the normal screen that was on there.the normal screen wouldve definitely been large enough for exit and im glad i did that as the babies are tiny.i also added black tape on the inside of the lid to create a tighter fit...hopefully that takes care of escapees. | |

| this is rediculous. i dont think theyve eaten the crap i cut up for em. no store in my city carries fruit flies or pinheads. id have to drive 50miles to a specialty store out in mesa. petco says they get fruitflies but they dont get them every cricket shipment. their next cricket shipment is friday or tuesday. petsmart doesnt even get them anymore. wtf?!?!?!?!?!?! | |

| Try to harvest some field plankton. Get a butterfly net and run wildly through a beautiful meadow. It helps if you hum and skip while you do it.
Seriously though, a butterfly net and a field in the late afternoon early evening. Just make sure that it's not a field that might have been sprayed. You can catch all sorts of tiny insects.
You can also order fruit fly cultures online. I know you don't like to do that, but it may be your best option.

| would they survive shipment in this summer heat?
a beautiful meadow in phoenix arizona is non existant.but that scenario reminds me of that smash bros commercial with the song by the turtles "happy together".

| I think cultures will do fine in the mail. You might try to stick something in their face and see if they eat it... | |
