| Guys After quite some searching and begging and what not I finally found scorplings! If the deal goes through I will have 10-15 treedwelling wonderfully beautiful Paraensis critters soon. And soon to follow pictures. If you think you want some too, let me know I think I can arrange something in one order! These are VERY rare and I doubt another of these will pop up soon. They are humidity loving communal treedwelling, almost arboreal species, climbing ferns etc... Very graceful and somewhat venomous. I will post a caresheet if need to be. | |

| Excellent. Not for me though. Rare or not, I have an aversion to keeping things that live in trees. Gives me the heebie jeebies. | |

| They do dont they, they even get pretty large... To me they are very beautiful and well at least they dont jump like arboreal spiders do.
So fingers crossed on a good outcome. They dont breed easily though. The females are very sensitive to having scorplings most notably when they are CB.

| That is one scary looking scorp. Just the sight of it brings to mind lethal. Good luck with it. I'm really glad to hear that it doesn't jump. How fast is it? | |

| Thanks all, will see how it goes. They live near the ground on ferns to as much as 120 feet in the air on the canopy of rain forests of French Guyana. Where the T. Blondi lives btw.
So they need a lot of heat and a lot of humidity.
But this is not really the problem. The females when CB are not as strong as the WC ones (I have read it, dont know first hand) certainly not when it comes to mating, and they are hard to keep alive once they do.
THis has got to be something with the difficulty of making a similar habitat than what they got in nature. You cannot have a terrarium 120 feet tall with on top more sunlight, less moisture en below more heat and more humidity. THis is believed to be the problem.
Actually they move rather slowly, but they can burst in speed just as every other slender scorpion, which is fast (but not T-fast) THey can climb, but also unlike T, they cannot climb glass.
As for as venom goes, they are supposed to be of medical significance, but nowhere near the Andro species' potency concerning dangerousness. THey are more shy too.
About the same length as an Australis, but a lot less bulky. | |

| Hi Bex
Well, the guy selling the adult couple, does not want me to take them home since he does not wish to be disturbed at his place since he has a busy life
So, I found myself scorplings and will go buy these. Unfortunately, they need to come from a bit further, but as I said, 15 pieces makes for a whole lot of photos. Sadly though, it might take two weeks or something, since they have moulted but not leave the mother's back yet.
But when they arrive, I will post pictures. They will not be black as the adults. Coloration comes in when they reach adulthood.

| Exactly and at least I wont get older adults..
But I will have to ask questions to you Bex and the other P people because I have little experience with tropical species...
So first question. When I had Ts, they needed moistureness too. But I hated molds, any way of diminishing them?

| Lovely looking species, very distinct. High humidity but good ventilation is hard to get right. Covering half of the hood is 1 way, especially if it's a wide tank. Tip water in 1 end (side with covered top) and that side will stay more humid. You can also rig up a small fan , like out of a pc tower, to blow above the tank, this really helps to draw any stale air out and stops an significant mould growth. Anything that does grow in there with a fan running I'd leave in anyway. Not like a scorpion has never seen a mushroom before is it?lol | |
