| So I finally borrowed my brother's camera and took pics of all of my enclosures and scorpions that were out at the time, most of course as you all know are hiding lol. Most pics are new, but I put some old ones in there too since most were hiding. Here is my entire rack: - Pandinus Imperator/Emperor Scorpion x 4:
This was my first scorpion I got back in January, I got him/her as a 3rd instar and now he/she is a 4th instar going onto 5th Sausage with legs New friends I picked up for him/her, I bought two, but he gave me a third as a freebie. Three 2nd instar imps, 2/3 have molted to 3rd instar as of 6/18/2011, I cant find the 3rd at the moment, prolly molted too they are all part of the same brood, and the four of them are getting along great so far Their new home a 10g tank with plenty of pre dug burrows, false bottom setup, a water fall, big pothos plant, and a piece of wood I found outside, they all managed to slip under the waterfall because of the way it sits lol. At first I was worried, but when I lifted it up, there is a big 'dip' in the substrate more then enough room for them to get in and out.
- Hadrurus Arizonesis/Desert Hairy:
- Pandinus Cavimanus, Tanzanian Red Claw:
- Paruroctonus Boreus/Northern Scorpion:
My buddy I met in the hobby gave this little guy to me, it was in pre molt when I got it and it took over two months for it to finally molt, I guess this genus is very slow growing. Here is a pic of it freshly molted I havent really seen it since, it has made a giant tunnel system in his home and I have yet to see it come out :p This one is in a 7x4x4 Acrylic container. You can kinda see it in this pic.
- Paruroctonus silvestrii/Silvestrii's Scorpion:
- Babycurus Jacksoni/Rusty thick Tail:
- Heterometrus Laoticus/Asian Forest Scorpion:
- Hoffmanu/vaejovis spinigerus/Striped Devil Scorpion:
- Smeringurus mesaensis/Dune Scorpion:
Got this guy at the same pet store as above, I totally dig the ghostly white color it has, and this guy is vicious and quick as hell, always fun to watch when feeding. Sadly I dont have any pics of it out, as it likes to snag the food and go into hiding, but it has rearranged the entire enclosure, digging tunnels closing them up and then digging them up again lol. Home, child's shoebox: You cant see me!
- Androctonus Bicolor/Black Fat Tailed Scorpion:
- Scorpio Maurus Palmatus/Israeli Gold Scorpion:
- Leiurus quinquestriatus/Deathstalker:
- Mesabuthus Martensii/Chinese Armor Tailed:
- Orthochirus innesi/Egyption Pillar Tailed Scorpion:
I went to the LPS with my friend cause he wanted a gecko , he got a 5.5g exo terra for TEN BUCKS with the canopy at the goodwill! Insane! Anyways he convinced me to buy this sucker lol. Here it is... Home when it dried out, hurray for water stains. 4x4x4 Cube.
Went from one to sixteen in six months! Wowzas! That's all for now....Thanks for checking out my pics

| Like your martensii bro..you need more though, they're awesome communally. Mine have some defects too (mycosis, paralized pedipalp, legs etc) but they're doing fine. If they're not asking too much, I would take one even with mycosis, specially if you can get a female (assuming yours is male. I can't see the pincers well enough to sex it). Bex, the real big problem is the space actually. Anyone with a regular day job can buy a scorp or two in a month. I've never counted actually the total amount, would probably get a heart condition from it lol. Did you get your cornies yet? I'm now searching for 1-2 beardies more Want rankins too but they're too expensive at the moment. | |

| yeah depending on the enclosure setup, I dont spend 'too' much on them, they only get expensive when I deck out their homes lol, but thats more for me then them. I will try to get a macro shot one of these days so you can sex it for me. I prolly spent 600 total so far lol maybe prolly less thats just high rolling it. I shop around trying to save money anywhere and everywhere I can lol, for example those exo terra IR bulbs are 16~ bucks normally for a 75w, but I can get them for 6 at this one store, and a 10g is 15 bucks, but I can get 10g at another place etc etc. They all add up eventually . | |

| Very much so. For substrate and stuff, even try going to a home depot. Sometimes, you get ripped of just because it has a label 'reptile/invert sand' while its just coloured playsand or similar...

| Whats a good way to keep my imps from going under the waterfall? I saw the 4i drag a buncha coco fiber from under there then run back under, now im worried the little brats will eventually get crushed | |

| Hmmm the best way would have been to put something under the waterfall so they couldn't burrow lol but bit late for that you can't really stop them either unless you get some sheets of plastic and slide them down the sides so they can't get under at all?? Think the betrothing would be to take them out and put something under it like a big rock or anything they cant get through | |

| Dolby: I think they want liek 30 bucks for it, too much imo. Same place asking 80 for their bicolor.
Bex: I was thinking about removing the substrate from under it and sitting it directly on the gravel, will that do? Only about an inch of substrate under it. | |

| 30 bucks is way overpriced. I paid around 45 bucks (converted from local currency) together for 4 of them. | |

| YEah its a lot and its not full grown, prolly little bigger then what I have.
Apparently, there is a local person around my area that has a huge colony direct from China of them. He bought a giant crate of them and weeded out the ones with defects and has been mixing their blood lines in between broods to keep it 'fresh'.
Dono if I will get another communal species colony/group going, it is only in a 4x4x4 cube, unless I get another 2.5gal lol.

| Nah its pretty low to the bottom, I might just clear out the sub in that area, and pour some more gravel just in that spot and put the waterfall over it again. | |

| yeah they are kinda wierd to take care of, desert, but need some humidity, I guess kinda like a flat rock? Theres a care sheet that says to use a false bottom, some just spray daily in a corner. I have both, but the false bottom might not be so good cause she dug up all the rocks lol. | |

| You can get some fiberglass screen and cut the material to place over the gravel layer. Also you can get a sheet of the coco fiber background stuff they sell fro crabs and frogs and cut it to size. | |
