| Thanks bud. Yeah the small babies (abt 5-6 mm) make up the numbers. Basically, i removed Mica (scorpion mum) and then start pouring in hundreds of roach nymphs for the communal 2.instar babies every 4 days... it was a massacre.. very few roach traces were seen by the third day.. I've yet gotten the time to count them... i can't imagine doing individual virals for them.. plus with 2 more broods coming... which one of the brood will be from an 8.instar female.. I might need your help to take some off my hands.. | |

| Thanks bro I would say a communal setup of Centruroides margaritatus scorplings will still be subjected to risk of cannabalism. It is just a matter of severity depending on the size of the enclosure/ ample hides / food given. Imo, raising them is fairly easy, considering that they aren't picky eaters and are hardy/ adaptable to the surroundings. Example of their hardiness is that they are able to molt from 2.instar to 5.instar in such a small deli-container (as shown below) in a short time-span of only 2 months before they are upgraded to larger virals. Diameter of deli-container is only 4-5cm. Height is 5cm.As for mating an adult pair, females are sexually ready at 7.instar and able to give birth (Mica's brood) but with patience and optimal enclosure settings, they can attain 8.instar. I'm definitely excited to study the brood size between 7 & 8.instar http://gsscorpions82.multiply.com/photos/album/16/Centruroides_margaritatus Hope it helps, GS | |

Do you mean that your c marg had popped at 7th instar and then for quite some time molted to 8th instar? Coz I've been informed that once a scorpion pops, they could no longer go to molting process again.

Hey bro Apart from this 7.instar female (mica) which popped recently, I have one other 7.instar and another 8.instar female and both are about to pop. That 8.instar specimen was not mated at all untill i've gotten her to achieve 8i. As for molting after a scorp has popped, it is not impossible but it is indeed rare.

Thanks Bex. Yeah its quite a decent brood size for my barks' breeding project. As for most scorplings among my projects, there's still P.trans.. If things go as planned, both my 8i are due to pop between this dec-mar. Hope its not too cold then and in time for Xmas gift! Lolz
