| I caught this lonely ranger outside the burrow. "Spooned' him and put him in the communal tank on his lonesome to see if it could pull its weight in there.. Mind the tail, that is already blackening (very fresh scorplings since most are still on the mother)... Elvis has left the building | |

| Jups! She made the hole a bit bigger and most are already on the ground. Not too huddled up. I could be wrong for like 5 scorplings or so.. But its around that number. Maybe 51 maybe 60.. But I counted 54 so its a good litter, if you keep in mind all moulted..
So each one is instar 2 now. Maybe there were a few deaths but they are eaten if there were because I did not see dead ones. In no way do they resemble bicolor atm, but they are :-)

| Crazy isnt it.. Just need to keep the humidity up. They look fragile, but they really are quite hardy already. To conclude this topic, I'll post a picture of where all 54 (if none die meanwhile) will reside in. Fat and powerfed to reduce "mortal kombat' between the bros and sisters.. This is with their real lighting and Elvis is somewhere in there, but cant find him anymore lol. It is basically scorpioncastle with some added sand (for moistureness), rocks, pinheads and a twig. It is really large as I might not be able to find any when all are in there, but thats ok, they will grow into it. most o them. THinking about keeping 10 ps.: cam has arrived too, just need to get it in the shop (after the firm paid my overdue tank and dinnertickets). They didnt stock these except in the main warehouse Well I guess this topic will die out now, hopefully someone, somewhere will have some use for it! Cheers | |

| the mother is throwing the kids off her back and chasing them out. I'm experiencing it right now. She got tired of them (at 1.41 at night). They are ALL leaving in a rush, I'm having trouble catching them when there are more than 4 out at the same time. Timing! I caught and put 39 youngsters in their kindergarten. This is what remains. A lot. Sigh I'm at 3/4 i think. A good 15-20 more to go. Good thing is the enclosure they are in is pretty big so you cant even spot them well. Somewhere on this picture is a young Androctonus bicolor.. somewhere... | |

| Yes. I moved them to their tank, all 53 of them, and threw in an entire cricket tub of pinheads. It seems, there are only a few pinheads left, so I might say they have been chasing crickets all night.
Cant know for sure untill I see them again, which ones ate and which ones didnt. They are still very small so it is easy to see.
There are many in the box, but they can hide like champs. I guess when they grow up and turn black, they will have a harder time lol They are fiesty little boogers!! Each one tried to sting the cup I used to move them.
ps I dont know how Will and some others have done it, but my female is covered in scorpling skins (even now when they all left her). Very nasty to take away. She might have them on her for a while to come. None died atm.
On a sidenote I'm feeding her and she eats like a champ. She is back together with the male, without problems.

| I was wondering where all my babies went to. Cant imagine they all escaped!! So I couldnt resist and lift some stones.
...
the sight of 20 or 30 or so scorpions fleeing after lifting a stone is crazy! there are a lot of stones in there, but they seem to gang up. I just hope I chuck in enough food so they dont attack each other.
All are still alive and doing well.

| It's nice they're getting along so far. Maybe there will be a bigger risk of cannibalism when they start molting to 3i.
How big are these guys after all? Less than 1cm chelae to telson?

| Hi dolby!
I hope they are going to cannibalize a bit. I can keep throwing cricket tubs in their enclosure. A few hours later all crickets are gone. Pretty pricey if you ask me!
I think they are bigger. I'd say around 1 to 1,5 cm.
If all scorpions are fed that they resemble a marble with legs, they wont prey on each other even during moulting. As they get bigger territorial disputes are most likely going to be the culprit.
And even then, deaths are unlikely.
My male adult bicolor is literally laying on top of my female bicoloR this mourning! Shows they are quite forgiving towards each other. Or i have sissy bicolor.

| Update 29th July
One died because I accidentally put a stone on it.. lol sorry I will miss you! On a more serious note, they're getting really dark (tail and pinchers) and the body is getting tanned.
I am starting to have my doubts about the species Androctonus Bicolor Longecarinatus I have atm. THey are two moults ahead and are lighter coloured than my own brood scorpions. If someone has experience with longecarinatus, its now to tune in :-)

| Couldnt get any clearer shots, they are so nervous and fast I had to have even fast reactions for these. This is how they are running around now. 2 have died, I have no idea why but I think they were weaker since the others are doing really well. Will see. | |

| Exactly my thoughts. They're practically black, with a reddish back. and whitish legs. Actually pretty scorpions atm. And yes they all walk like that. Tail straight to the sky. With a cricket as hat. | |

| That are gorgeous babies Sam. Sorry for the loss. I lost one of my B.occitanus yeterday. Quite odd too, It's like ifthe guy has just dried or something. It's just in their usual position with retracted claws and tail curled up to the sky. | |

| @street, these do too. They carry them on their backs to quieter places. My adults dont do it tbh. They're too lazy in just catch their food in front of their burrow @dolby im not too worried about it. Others seem to be doing fine. I might say its due to weaker brother and sisters that cannot find their food or something. Do you keep them separated? | |

| Yes, I keep them separated in 50ml delicups. I suppose it got dehydrated or something as it's quite hot here. I should had misted a bit of moisture in one end there. But I didn't Stupid me! | |

| Well things happen. I guess mine filter out the strong and weaker ones too. I'll try to make as little casualties as possible ofcourse. Refining it a bit, making sure they are a bit moist. Anyway, I thought it was time for an update and some cleared pictures (for me to look back when I have other broods too). 9 on a rock together. same pic, different angle getting fatter | |
