| I upped the heat and humidity. I saw her basking near the heatlight at broad daylight. She never does this, so its a break from usual routines... | |

| 12/7/2011 Update
Female locked itself in completely, not even going out at night. I might think she is getting ready. Keeping her very hot (thermostat 33 degrees, thermometer 36 degrees) and pretty humid (watering around her dig dailey, not too much but moist) with a ventilator in the heat cabine running to allow for displacement of air so it doesnt get stale at these temperatures.

| It happened, she has popped, today 22/7/2011! She dug herself into the substrate so I cant take a nice picture, but she is WHITE from the babies hanging on her body! They are everywhere on top of her, i might say 40 easily. | |

| Ye id love to have some too.. but its white sand and she dig all the way to the bottom.. white babies, white sand, small place.. very little to photograph. All you can see is a bit of black scorpionlegs with a white ball of cotton candy around it... she did it to the side of the enclosure so you can see them crawling all over her.. but not much and i dont risk losing scorplings for taking a shot of them now. Sorry :-) Next week I'll have my new cam with a macro too.. so when she digs herself back up onto the surface pictures are incoming | |

| not the clearest, but you have an idea. There is a mountain of white on her. I think some might even be instar 2 already. tailside, yes they are even hanging on the tail :-)

| Thanks guys. I'll keep people posted here. Might be some guys and girls want to adopt some. It is nice to see their evolution, birth date etc..
Gs bro, i nought a lens like yours with the cam. Any suggestions to lightign? I heard lighting gets problematic with macro pics. Thanks.
Posted this through my cell, so sorry if it has grammatical errors

| Pluto, I'm no expert on macro photography, or any photography for that matter, but that guy on here Hauser, the one with all the photos of the Uroplectes sp, uses nothing more than a table lamp in a dark room. His photo's are amazing. | |

| It seems that lighting is the most difficult to get right. And yes Pluto, probably lots of people are hoping to adopt few. I know I am, lol | |

| so I'm sure they get to a nice home Dolby cool thanks Mitchel, I'll try it, hopefully i'll get some pics with the scorplings still on her back. She looks like the Parabuthus female with all the little ones on top. You can barely see the scorpion lol. She is taking good care of them, so far I think none died and not many were eaten, if any. So I guess she's a good mom. From the moment they walk around, and have had 2 feedings, I will prepare some to be ready for shipment, but I want to strengthen them a bit. Will keep you updated, cam should be here thursday and i'll try the table lamp method Street, but I wont disturb her.. so we'll see. Thanks for the curiosity lol. Will let her fatten up after her good care for he youngsters and try to mate her again afterward (as she probably was preggo before I put her together with the male. 3 months gestation is just too short. I have little merrit :-) ) I find my Australis to be a month behind the Bicolor A. She now displays lots of embryo in her belly too, one month later. I guess they will be born mid august... | |

| Most of them are right in the middle of moulting! As you can see, most are surviving as far as I can tell, its really tight in there! | |

| 25th July Update
They are changing nicely. All have moulted. Turning yellowish - black already.. This makes me puzzled how my Androctonus bicolor longecarinatus scorplings (already instar 3) still are whitish yellow.
Most are still on the back, but few are venturing out in the burrow. I might think they will live it when they feel they are ready for it.
Strange world we live in. | |

| I suppose soon you´ll have little andros crawling all around your encloure Did you breed the longecarinatus yourself? It will be interesting to see at which instar they will get their full colors. | |
