I recently purchased a baby emp from the pet store cause I was always fasinated with the way they looked, then I went back a week later and bought the Desert Hairy they had as well lol seeing how it is more active then the emp. I might go back and buy their flatrock scorpion as well lol
They are both being housed in those Plastic Kritter Kages or whatever brand they are called, the person who sold me the scorpions actually bred the emp from home and she said that room temp was fine as well as the desert, since they were both being housed in the samething at the pet store. My room is pretty warm anyways since I have my PS3 and computer on for most of the day.
I am not sure how old they are, I think the lady said the emp was through its 2nd molt stage? The emp is about 1.5 inches (body length). and the hairy is a bit bigger maybe 3 inches?
The 2 scorpions walked around their homes for the first few days then settled into their hides, the desert comes out every now and then and rearranges the sand as well as just sit on top of the rock, while the baby has stayed hidden and comes out for a little bit at night.
I mist the emp's housing once a day before I head to work as well.
I feed them 1 cricket a week, and they both have small dishes with water in them.
I will eventually get them into 2 seperate 5 gal tanks when they get bigger.
I am using eco earth for the emp and calcium enriched sand for the desert scorpion, I will post some better pics later when I get home, my camera on my phone is teh suq.
Here are some pics sorry they arent amazing quality.
Houses side by side.
This is the container the hairy was housed in at the store.
