how come so much stock is put in lights, i can keep my tanks at a constant 75 degrees (Fahrenheit) all day and night...without lights...i even disconnected my overhead bedroom light
and thats 2 emperor tanks i do this with...

not to mention since the pre winter temperature drops where i live in florida make it cold outside, i keep my heater set at 80

im not trying to sound, hostile (lol cant think of a better word)
but how is it, that every convo about whatever scorpion always leads to lights?

just a random thought...

Hey Bro, don't mean to be a smart 4$$, we'll ok, I do but don't take it personally... Why don't you come up and hang out up by me for a week this coming January? I'll let you crash on my couch you can check out my collection and a nice WI winter You will instantly feel great about living in Florida and will also understand why we need lights and other heat sources. In fact the lights are not only for the scorps but for the rest of the apartment too! My place has been at 75 for the past few weeks and have the thermostat set to kick on the heat at 63 Woot!

and as fun as that sounds, im not down to do anything that constitutes dealing with snow...
it was just an honest question actually...

im in the process of running an experiment, ill let you guys know when i have the foundation of my experiment set up

Good, glad you didn't take offense as none was intended, and I couldn't resist! I love Florida weather for just that reason. I think Rene commented about the quietness of winter though and you have a point there Bro! It is beautiful sometimes when you are nice and warm and looking out or even bundled up and walking in fresh snow but then again if it is snowing that is not too cold at all, it's when it gets too cold to snow that really sucks and there are a lot of winters here were it hardly snows but stays so damn frigid! All in all, I'm better off in anything from a 1 to 3 season local!!

lol, well, now we know everyones opinions about bulbs!
personally they are unnecessary for my forest species (i keep the room warm, much easier) but the desert species need a bit extra so i give them a bulb.

however, its hard to see scorpions without a light source

fingers crossed for a big batch of babies. certainly sounds a bit too weird to just be a molt, but you never know with scorpions.

Yep she is eating every other night or every 2-3

yeah im trying to breed mine, the female has had all her molts now, just waiting for the male
