| Fingers crossed and thanks, I'm going to check what your female did more closely. The male I have however, is pretty big... so I don't really have anything to compare a female to.
Did your 8th instar female grow by a lot during the last moult? My female is as big as my previous female, but she looks too fresh to be in her final moult.
The male is way bigger than the male I had.

| After seeing this size difference I am almost certain she needs a moult (or two)... if your male is as big as my male, then I think my female still has some moults to go.
I almost feel sorry for him in that vid lol Thanks for the video.

| If he has a hide which gives almost pitchblack shades, 30 degrees celcius, a nice fresh airflow and food he/she is ready to go. The only things they need really, is to be at ease by not getting disturbed....
The only extra thing I do on mine is spray the walls of the enclosure once a week lightly. This is not necessary I think, but I do it to be safe and havent had any mycosis yet.
I figured, when it is really really hot in the desert and really cold at night, condensation must be formed on the ground....
This is why I only do it during the mornings too...
Havent had a scorp die on me yet.. in the past yes, but I had them several years. What I do notice is that when a hide has a big entrance, they will close it with dirt, since then I push my hides almost completely in the sand and let them dig under it. I presume this is because too much light comes in, which they feel is dangerous for them.

Hope they get a good moult, maybe your male will moult sooner or is he less fat?

- Finally, i've observed that for deserts scorps like P.Trans, A.Bicolor, A.Australis..
When they are in heavy premolt.. they will adopt a special position whereby her chela are bent more and more inwards their chelicerae as the day of molting gets nearer.. i'll dig out a picture to post it soon.. (ps: it might not be true for all keepers to experience this) @tlb_05 With regards to pic of a heavily pre-molt desert scorp, i found one pic of my 3i A.bicolor sling. It is identical to P.Trans as well. Within 1-2 weeks when this pic was taken, she molted to 4th instar. This is the stance of a alert P.Trans: Notice the position of the premolt A.bicolor's chelas.. it is entirely different from a normal desert scorp who is just laying still to ambush their prey. The latter has chela pointing towards the front
