If you were to tell me a few years ago that I'd have an American Pit Bull for a pet I'd probably wouldn't have believed it; let alone three. But they are the sweetest dogs I've ever had. They are all lap dogs too! lol
It is a shame that the Michael Vicks of the world have forever ruined the repretation of this breed. They have been used by law enforcement and military for drug and bomb sniffing, rescue dogs, hearing dogs, general service dogs, and even as cadaver dogs.

This year's puppies (small litter of 3) were born on Aug. 3rd I'll try to get pics up soon. They all look like their dad Ruger, all blues! One male is already spoken for and I'm keeping the female to breed to Winchester (an unrelated blue-nose blue). That leaves only one blue male left.

Well said and beautiful dogs! All of the ones I have been around have been the sweetest things for sure! Used to have a roommate who had a Rhodesian Ridgeback, American Bull Terrier mix who would sleep in my bed everynight, they are big push overs Smile
Nice to see pictures of some without cropped ears and scars, not much in the world is more disheartening than that, well aside from starving children commercials, but you know what I'm saying! Great looking pups!

Awesome, are these just fluke pregnancies or are you breeding? I'm asking because I am hoping to get a dog soon. I am waiting until I buy a house which may be a year out so I can have a back yard or a big enough area I can fence off for them to run, play and poop in Very Happy
I'm in Wisconsin but used to live in the North Bay area as well as have family in the Phoenix area. If you are potentially breeding in the future I may be interested in taking a puppy off your hands. I love American Bull Terriors, Boxers, Danes and Rhodesian Ridgebacks, basically everything in that family Smile. I think it would be easy enough to collaborate a visit back to Cali with picking up a puppy at sometime. I also have met a guy who is from Japan and does tattoos in the LA area. I had wanted to incorporate LA into one of the next trips as well, Bakersfield is right between the two.
Like I said it'd be a ways out but I was curious as the extra effort for a good dog would be worth it. I am leary because of the, as you put it, Michael Vicks of the world and would want to insure the the dog was a few generations out at least of any sort of fighting or abuse as fighting and training really is. I have a son so I would like to be extra careful there, also with the laws getting stricter and stricter on dog owners, you can't let them poop without the threat of a lawsuit, let a lone one should get scared or threatened and nip. You come across as being a pretty passionate guy when it comes to animals and the dogs look healthy and happy Very Happy
I also like some of the Japanese breeds too like the Akita and some of the smaller ones that look like a cross between foxe's and huskey's Smile

what kind of exercise do you give the adults (like pulling tires on a chain or anything that will build muscle)
