| I got up this morning to find her on the inside of the top mesh screen in her cage, just hanging out. I helped her get down by using a little brush to encourage her to walk along while I gently opened the top screen. I have never seen one of our scorpions do this! My concern is that we are leaving on vacation and I don't want her to get stuck up there while we are away.
I could take out some of the coco fiber, but that will leave about 3 inches of substrate.
Has anyone else had one climb to the screen and get off without intervention?
Crazy scorp.

| [img] [/img] Not that great of a photo, but you get the idea. It is a 5 gal tank. She is able to stand up on her tail in the corner and just reach her claws to the screen. Obviously she grabbed on last night. Thoughts? | |

| All my scorps do it from time to time. Its normal so nothing to worry about.
If they can get up their by themselves, they can get down by themselves. | |

| Should be fine its not really a big drop so i doubt your emp would be in any trouble even if it fell | |

| they use their tails to lever themselves up, for various reasons like substrate is too damp, too dry, full of baby crickets, or they are simply exploring all dimensions of their habitat. as long as the drop is less than a foot and its on to soft coco fiber it can get down. they tend to go to the edge and slowly let themselves down until their held on by their back legs then just drop and land fairly upright, though i have seen them just let go if startled... | |

| I just worry that her little feet will get stuck in the mesh. We had a hard time getting them out when we were moving her down. They "pokey" parts seemed to stick in there pretty well. I would hate or her to get stuck up there for two weeks while we are away. | |

| She was probably a little scared of you and just trying to hold on. They can get down on their own pretty easily. | |

| My emps do it in the critter keeper I have. Well the smaller of the two does it more. Actually it's more active/agressive than the larger one. He seems to be on guard all the time. | |

| its nothing to worry about mine do it all the time its quite fun to watch how they get up there. but i only think mine goes up there because the crickets are on the top of the tank of the top of the wall. | |
