| Hey imgetting my emperors this weekend hopefully and I was wondering if two males would fight with eatchother? Myparents are letting me have two of the same sex so we dont end up with loads haha. so id prefer males just because of the size there more impressive to look at but obviously if there going to fight id be better off getting one.Or the two females? | |

| 1) Do not have 2 males as they will almost certainly fight. 2) You can then either have; a male and female, or two females. Assuming you get two emps.
3) Females grow bigger than males.

| Yup, females are definitely bigger than males. Males mature at 6th instar while females grow to 7th instar. | |

3) Females grow bigger than males. This is not entirely true.....I have and HAVE had 2 males in the same tank together for just about 6 months now....They do not fight...They sit together under there hide and hang out...There are times where one will leave and go to another hide for a few days, but he will come back into the other hide and be perfectly fine...I will wake up the next morning to see them back together perfectly fine...They dont fight over food or anything. So i would say, 2 males are ok as long as the 2 males are: From the same place you purchase them from Or if they were in a communal tank when you purchased them. I would suggest that you DO NOT take 2 males from tanks that have been alone for a while and throw them together...That will definitely cause some fighting, but if they were communal in the first place, they should be perfectly fine...

| I would pay no more than £20 for a scorp especially an emp. You are looking at anywhere between £10 - £20. On average they are sold at around £12 - £13.
As for the two male thing that anemiaffx said, his work fine together but it is uncommon. So if you do decide to try it, make sure you follow his advice about same communal set-up etc.

| Id also like to add, that if your going to have 2 communal males living together, that if you later decide to add another scorpion to the group that you DO NOT add a female....I am yet to discover what would happen if you did that but i wouldn't suggest you risk it. If your going to do 2 males, then i suggest you just get more males that are communal as well. | |
