| Hey Just wanna show you my proud jacksoni mom.Her 2'nd brood born 5 month after her first. I count 13-14 babies, same as last time. Those I sold except 2 but this brood I'm planning to keep. Gonna make me a large colony this time Did only a few photos when I was moving her not to disturb her to much. | |

| Awesome pictures! Makes me want to breed some even more When you put a pair together, how long does it take them to get "interested" in each other? or is there a certain time of year? | |

| I keep 4 together all the time.Only separated the female this time to make it easier for me to catch the scorplings when they leave mom. Last time I had to catch the adults first before putting my hands in.And I still didn't get all the babies first time.So this time I would make it easier for myself - Quote :

When the male finds the female he should be interested at once if he's ready Else just leave them together for some days (if they dont fight alot) as they are a communal species and would normally do fine together.

| ElWray: Nice..Just remeber not to throw him in with the female right away.Give him some time to settle down and make a rearrangement of the females terrarium and set both scorps in at the same time. Some fights could accure but after that they should accept each other and settle down. Thank you binksyboy3 | |

| Okay just a little update. All babies are now seperated and first i found 11 babies and then 8 more, a couple of days later.Maybe a few is still hiding in the kork piece.I'm so glad Think I will make a little communal habitat with 3-4 babies and the rest kept single.Just to watch there growrate. My experience with some other species shows me that those who are kept together will grow alot faster, for some reason.Maybe thats same thing with jacksoni or maybee I will loose all except 1 big fat one /Richardt | |

| nice, sounds like fun
I've been wanting a communal setup of these guys for a while I think I just might do it!
cool, keep us updated with how that project goes. I've heard the same thing as well, but about how babies kept with the mom will grow more quickly than when alone.

will grow more quickly than when alone. That could be..With my first brood I missed to get 1 baby and when I found it a month later it was much larger than the rest.It had been living with 4 adults in all this time and must had been eating some leftovers from the adults as the prey was way to big for it to kill singlehand.

| uncleleo 22 babies total,so there was a few more than first expected.Twice as many than her first brood so I'm so pleased Did a communal with four of them and will then follow how much cannibalisation there are from that size and forward. When there's any news I will post that inhere.. /Richardt | |

I use a plasticbox and with the lid I gently guide her into the box.But you don't have to do that if you won't as emp's are normally good mothers and won't eat there babies. The same for B. jacksoni, I think.I did it only for making it easier for me to catch them later on. /Richardt

With my emp, I waited until they had come off the mother's back for a while so that their exos could harden and then entised the mother out. I removed the mother to a different tank, before lifting up the hide to remove all the babies.

| My mum had the babys on wednesday/thursday and they started coming off of her back and she put one in her mouth (fangs) so I gave her a cricket and she let go of it so I took it out and put it in a breeding box inside her tank.
Since then 12 more have come off and off what I could see there was about 8-9 more to come off of her back, I also put those in with the one I already out in there. There's just one query one off the babys has one off its come claws missing and it is walking very slow and dragging its tail on the floor, whats wrong and will it grow another claw back????

| It'll probably die from what you've said, but most people experience the mother eating a couple of her babies. She will eat any that she feels are deformed and cannot survive on their own. | |

| ok, It has died sadly I never knew that they ate their babies that they thought weren't going to survive but, the one that i saved didn't die its just another one that did so oh well.
Just about every baby has come off now just waiting for another couple to shift off of her back.
