| I also am interested in breeding, getting more emp's.. Or even some Giant Desert Hairys.. I was wondering if I picked up a few 5 gallon tanks, their probably the cheapest, if I could keep my more emps? Just one in each tank. Or how big do the tanks need to be?
I work nights, so I am up most of the night and this seemed like a fun hobby, which it is. I love having something to take care of and I want to take on more, also if people could point out a good place to order emp's or other scorpions online that deliver in/ship to canada.

| i believe you can do 2 emperors per 10 gallon tank... and you'll need 2 hides per scorpion
i did have 4 in my main tank, but i realized they didnt really use 1 hide all that often so i removed it and left the 3 hides in my 29 gallon tank
i dont know about desert hairy scorpions (never owned one, but id love to)
scorpions = great nocturnal fun =)

| As for attempting at breeding should they be in different tanks untill before the attempt? Not that I am interily sure I even have a male and a female yet. It could either be that or two females. I doubt they are two males as their hasn't been a single fight.
Edit: So I just got back from the petstore, they finally had coco-fiber so I picked some up. I am going to fill the tank with a good amount. I want them to burrow which I dont think they have yet. I heard to make them more likely to burrow you soera fill the hide with fiber right? So they have to clear it out if they want a place to hide?

| What you can do is Yes fill the hide with some lightly packed fiber and make a little "starter" burrow to encourage the place where they'll start Give some time for them to start thought, dont get worried if they just sit there for a bit and not dig | |
