| Hi, may I request your insight on some question I am asking myself about my newly brought Pandinus Imperator. I was wondering about many thing so here it goes :
- Is the hot and cold spot are really important? - Do i need more than one hiding spot? - How much the night and day cycle is important? - My appartement temperature is about 76F, do i need to find a way to cool it at night or...? - The pet shop guy made me buy water munchies, what are your thoughts about it? - The pet shop guy advised me to feed him about 2 to 10 cricket per week, good advice? - My vivarium is on my TV furniture, is vibration is a worrying matter?
Thanks for the answers. (ps: sorry if there is any faults, english is not my mother tongue, in witch i'm not really any better lol)

| petshop people are retarded do research online first ALWAYS. they are told to say what the pet stores want them to, especially in regard to useless things, such as hygrometers, feedings, etc.
subadaults can live with 1-2 a week. adults 1-4, depending on size
and thats if they will eat/if you want them to die faster. feeding less means a longer living scorp (relative to other conditions., just make sure they aren't fat unless they're young or gravid).
vibration prolly will stress it out. find a desk or table elsewhere.
crickets can live off potatoes, squash, etc, ive heard many things. give them those if you can.
day temps = 78-84 night temps = 71-75 should be fine.
hot and cold spots ARE important. make sure one side is colder, by putting the heat lamp facing one side. they need night and day to not confuse them i guess.
3 hiding spots per 2 scorps. 2 for 1

| Feed them based on their weight. If they are fat, don't feed and if they are thin then feed them. Most people feed them about 2-3 crickets a week but sometimes they will just fast because they will, prior to and post molt or highlly gravid. | |

| Feeding more --> dying sooner --> not true. I believe you're thinking of temperatures, where hotter results in a faster-growing and sooner-dying specimen. - Is the hot and cold spot are really important? It's helpful but not an absolute requirement; if you add heat, just add it on one side so if it's too hot the scorp can choose where to go. - Do i need more than one hiding spot?If you have more than one scorp, or if you have it hotter at one end, then yes. - How much the night and day cycle is important? Not very important, since they live in burrows most of the time. - My appartement temperature is about 76F, do i need to find a way to cool it at night or...?That temp should be fine. - The pet shop guy made me buy water munchies, what are your thoughts about it?Use regular water, they can't drink from the gel. - The pet shop guy advised me to feed him about 2 to 10 cricket per week, good advice?Sometimes they'll stuff themselves, sometimes they won't eat for no visible reason. Just feed it what it will eat. What it doesn't eat remove after a day or two. - My vivarium is on my TV furniture, is vibration is a worrying matter?Only if you play it really loud a lot. If you're worried, put your tank somewhere else. | |
