So I've finally decided to stick with non-buthid desert species for my second scorp.

So here are my picks:

Vaejovis/Hoffimanus spinigerus

Smeringurus mesaensis

Hadrurus arizonensis/spadix

Can anyone give me a close approximation of the lifespan for V. spin and S. mesa ? I've found conflicting data using Google. Also of these three, which will do best in a layer of sand(not wetted/dried/packed, just loose sand) and a hide within a medium KK ?

Thanks for the answers folks.

For the Hoffimanus, they say 3-5 years but that's the internet saying that and could be unreliable.
Wait to see if someone backs me up before you take my word on it. Smile

None of these were available, so I ended up choosing a H. paucidens. Just need to find something temporary flat hide until I can look into some slate pieces.

Drink coasters work remarkably well.
