Just got 2 new Emps

Got one juvenile male, and one sub adult female

I just got them today and the female seemed to be pretty well settled already. I caught her drinking when I was holding the tank and I saw her digging also!!

Nice emps you got there! Just to clarify, what colour are the telsons?

Juvenile = white/yellow
Sub-adult = Cream
Adult = dark red/brown

yeah bottom pic looks like an adult

so i have two caves as u can see by the first picture. why is that all three of them hid in one of them and they are all stacked up together. why isnt the male tryin to mate with the female? is it because of my 3rd juvenile scorpion that this isn't happening?

Sometimes they just like to sit together while other times it might be the warm spot or even the cooler spot in the tank.

As for the mating if she is a subadult using my key above then she won't mate because she hasn't matured yet - same goes for the male

Emps pile on top of each other. It's what they do sometimes.

As for mating, it's a bit unreasonable to expect them to mate just because you have males and females in the same tank.

Sweet. Got two emps myself. One male one female. they havent mated, that i know of. ive had female bout a year and male bout 5 months. people at work thought i was crazy for ownin a scorpion, until i took them to work and showed them. now everybody wants one if they mate.
