| Hey guys need some advice here big time!
Fed my wee H. Spinigerus the other day, now, she moulted aaaages ago but got some sin stuck on the last 2 segments of her metasoma and the telson was also half covered which blocked her anus, since then her tail has kinda rotted a bit exposin part of her lower intestine on the 5th metasomal segment, shes been doing great and eatin fine no peoblems and still is but the proble is, as i fed her she went to sting (shes what i lke to call "Tail Blind" she can seem to figure out where the end of her tail is and cant sting effectively as hard as she tries) and as her backside lifted up i noticed her gut was chock full of crap, so much so i could see it through her skin!
Now i'm worried shel die from the impaction, i just tried to get the old skin off with a wet cotton bud and a needle but it didnt work and i was wondering what to do, should i amputate all of the affected segments off, if i was to do this would it shorten her lifespan at all and would she even survie it?
It doesnt seem to be affecting her behaviour in any way, still as hungry as ever, very active and aggressive and generally lovely lol
Really need help on this guys, cheers.

| I think all you can do is what you are doing now, keep her comfortable.
I believe that if you try to amputate the metasomal segment you will undoubtedly stress the scorpion out to the point of death anyway. The loss of a leg is manageable, the loss of the end of it's body will probably kill it.

| Yeh, I understand where you're coming from but I think she's on her way out either way. Sorry, to say it, but you're probably thinking the same thing. | |
