| dont know whther that worked but thats my setup Okay so it worked lol. Right imagine the clay tile is the size of my hand and youll have some idea the size of the hide. The substrate is coco fiber. The heat matt is on the side so you cant really see it, there are two rocks, white quartz and a slate rock he always sits on, and the shell in the corner is a water bowl, with some small pebbles so he dont drown (or any crickets) | |

| That tile. makes me nervous for your scorpion. any form of digging either side could make it loose and tumble down and SPLAT!
and your hand size...we dont know how big or small your hands are hahahaha so to measure the scorpion would be best.
The shell, if an adult scorpion they wont drown, they like to bathe in water. And any crickets that down...meh. ive never had a cricket drown in any of my water bowls. the scorpion eats them before that can happen

| good points. stones for my sense of security
The tile has been amended. Thanks for noticing that.
I think the scorp seems a little more settled in, hes curled up tight in his burrow, claws in so probably no going hungry, and the take seems more warm. (the scorp definately isnt sluggish) but ill guess ill see tonite when he comes out more.

| A better way to raise the humidity is to simply dump water on the substrate. Misting does virtually nothing to raise humidity for more than a few minutes.
I don't like restricting ventilation because it seems to encourage nasty stuff to grow or build up.

| You don't need one.
The only ones that really work are the expensive digital ones, anyway. The best way to tell if it's humid enough is if the soil in cross-section (against the glass) appears moist / damp. When you mist it only moistens the very top layer, which dries quite quickly.

| In your shell your adult scorpion has zero risk of drowing. I have shallow dishes that are deep enough for the adult to bathe in. The only scorpions I own that I dont allow to have water bowls is my iomachus politus and my scorplings. Even my teeny tiny red scorpions Caraboctonus keyserlingi have a very shallow water dish that they go into and bathe in.
Over tme, when you get more confident you can try new things but do what makes you happy

| Yeah, i get you. Would rearranging the tank (not the burrow, other rocks) from time to time maybe make more interesting or just stress it? | |

| I dont see the point in moving things around. Likely to also just cause stress. I only move things around when adding a new scorpion | |
