| Always wondered if this species really takes the dip!!! Here's how it was put together. Dimensions for the tank are 30cm(length)x15cm(width)x24cm(height). This is for my 1.0.8. Lychas mucronatus when the 8 finally mature... altogether 9 specimens from my captive breeding project

The substrate at water level is mainly sand separated by a layer of rocks... the coco-fiber + potting soil + moss is applied above the water line.

| Excellent setup! This is the first I've ever seen a pool in a scorp tank and specifically for semi-aquatic scorps. I wonder how they'll take to the setup, but can't wait for the future report. | |

| In the first installation I tried dropping the male in the water when he matured... but he took flight right up the bank and towards the vertical hide... I tried again with a 5i specimen that stayed still on a small piece of bark, by submerging the bark with it....
It remained still at the bottom for a few minutes underwater ... then it crawled along the bottom and ambled up the bank much like someone coming out of a pool with their denims on. It then poised itself on one of the branches hanging facedown and gave itself a waxdown polish.
*Pre-molt individuals seem to be keen on the water... perhaps absorbing water helps them with the molting process... considering that a scorpion has to increase its internal pressure to break free of the old-exoskeleton. Hmmm I liken to taking a major dump 'of' yourself LOL
