| My male emp is hardly moving at all with the tail lying on the ground. He usually spends all his time in his hide but has been out for over 30 hours. The claws are withdrawn and the only sense of movement i get is checking up on him to find that he hasn't moved but turned around a little but still in the same posture. He also has tiny little white areas on the gaps of his tail; starting from the very last plate on the body, right the way up to his telson.
Also before he was separated he was badly wounded by my female and had a big black hole in his telson where he had been stung.
What is happening?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

| From my most recent experience as of yesterday, if they're outside of their hides for a long period of time, it's not good. Tell me if you notice any of the following:
- Movement is sluggish
- Chela twitches
- Sides of scorp are a darkish black color
Those were all signs that my emp showed yesterday right before she died. Her tank mates also came out to check on her right before. It was almost as if they were saying goodbye.

| i haven't seen any chela twitches but he's not moving at all. In the morning i will try to move him but i fear the worst. Could be old age or possible infections from the wounds. | |

| I might try getting either; a pandinus imperator a heterometrus spinnifer/longimanus (dont know the difference) a pandinus cavimanus
Any recommendations would be appreciated along with help. I shall give an update of the situation tomorow morning. Thanks

| Yup, this morning he was pretty much dead.
Wont move apart from 1 of his legs very slightly and even that was several hours ago.

| Unless your tank got REALLY dry, it's definitely dead. The not-moving-with-the-tail-laying-out is pretty typical of scorpions that are on their way out.
If he was an adult, it was probably old age.
Moved to emp section.
(Any of the other species you mentioned are fairly easy to take care of, but P. cavimanus are crazy.)
