| I might be wrong about this but I believe pandinus africanus mentioned in diabollicallycursed post is a fictitious name given to certain scorpions to get them past customes or whatever it is they go through to export the scorpions.
I believe its given to scorpions like Pandinus imperator wich is on the CITES list so they dont get introuble exporting to many of them.
THats just something I remember reading somewhere...Like I said I could be wrong.

| I bought a pandinus africanus knowing it was a pandinus cavimanus. I even asked the shop as if I didnt know and they were all "yes the pandinus africanus, from Africa..." *rolls eyes*
It also gets known as a "red claw" or "African black scorpion" in the shop I go to...and im always saying..."what is this, what is this" and they always say "pandinus africanus" and im like...seriously, they BOTH are the same thing yet in the shop you call them something different for a "common name". Im thinking...thats a het and thats a P. cav *rolls eyes*
They get sent them yet they make it up as they go along!
and on that website^^^ why are they calling a Pandinus can also be a "heterometrus"....?!??!?!?

| Good find Diabollic. Thanks for confirming what I thought =o)
@Connie I saw that too Connie about calling a Pandinus a Heterometrus.Thats just stupid pet shops should need some kind of identification training for what they plan on selling.
I wouldnt be suprised if they sell emps in one cage for 20$ pandinus in another cage for 30$and black african scorpion for 40$ because that one comes from africa =o)
