| these scorpions and bothriurids in general do not like high temps. infact, if it gets to high for them to handle, they may die. they prefer it around the 70 - 75 mark. | |

| Yeah room temperature is good and at adult size they are less than an inch, the also like to burrow so i keep them in a mixture of coir/sand | |

| keep them in the coolest part of your room basically.
in the wild they rarely live in temperatures higher than 16degrees C
I kept these not so long ago but my room was too warm for them and they ended up dying, including a gravid female.
they will burrow slightly, but the females are more likely to do the burrowing, the males are happy enough digging out a scrape under a small piece of cork bark.
males are very small and thin, females are larger and stockier. The males also have a little tubicle on the inside of their peds. basically looks like a zit lmao!
spray once or twice a week, keep damp but not wet. for substrate i recomend a sand / coir mix of about 50/50. you will need 2" max.
if you do a search on the forum I have a couple of previous threads on this species

I've a Bothriurus spp. and I keep her in a little bit of peat/coco/sand/tiny pebbles @ room temps and she's doin fine. I've pieces of cork bark and board in there for her to hide in/under. Also a cap for a water dish
