By the way, the correct way to measure scorps is from the tip of the carapace to the tip of the extended tail -- measuring it curled will give a much smaller result.
And while emps can reach those sizes, it's actually quite rare. There's two "morphs" of the species, savanna and forest. Forest are MUCH larger but the vast majority of imports are savanna morph. Some of the emps you see in the videos (I haven't watched them, sorry) may be forest morphs, or they may be other species that resemble emps. I have a Heterometrus longimanus that's enormous compared to the adult emps I've owned.
