| I was just curious if there is any way that someone could show the colors of a P. Imperator's telson as it ages and transitions through moltings- like in an MSPaint blocking scheme or something. I am aware that adolescent scorps have a lighter almost white/cream color telson while matures transition toward a dark brown/red color. I guess what i would really like to know is if my larger scorps, which have a brownish telson, are mature and have no more molts remaining. I could take images of it but i fear it wouldn't do much justice. My two largest have a sort of darker brown telson than my little ones, but i would equate it more to the upper right brown on this palette below. i guess i would have expected a more red/mahogany colored telson on my larger scorps if they were mature. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks all. | |

| it's white all the way up to maturity, where it turns a deep red colour. the last few instars it's more creamy. | |

| Compare these. Click any to view the gallery. Juvenile, white: Subadult, cream: Adult, brown to red: Also, subadults are noticeably smaller than adults. | |
