| Looks pretty fat to me. There's the telson? So you can tell if she's ready to molt. Girl or boy? I thought girl. Just click on them to make them bigger. | |

| I think we need a better shot of the pectines, the photo isn't very clear. I'm going to say male at the moment. your scorpion is mature. | |

| Also, there seem to be weird spots of corrosion, for lack of better words, on some spots of it body. I'd take a picture, but my friend is gone for the night, and he has the camera. | |

also, the "corrosion" you are seeing, are these little black spots around the body? probably mycosis.

| arghh.... I can't make up my mind wither it's a M or F, I'm gonna say male for now...
he's probably just overfed. how often do you feed him?
and mycosis is a fungal infection thing, it usually only really appears on desert species that are being kep to moist. No one really knows how it's caused, some people say the spores are already in the substrate. which might make sense, as on of my emps has a few missing pectinal teeth due to this.

| I haven't fed him once.I just got him... God I can't remember. Tuesday! Yup. Tuesday. He was fat then. I just did a Google search, and it is a male. I totally got the shape mixed up from the first time I searched. Good job!
Yeah, right on top of where his stinger connects with his tail, it has a white spot that looks like it's burned through or something. He has two similar spots on his back, though they are smaller, and don't look like they've burned through at all.
On his right claw there is a rust colored patch that is rather big, and it's burned through pretty deep. I have no form of humidifier at this point in time. (Too cold.)

| Alright then, cool. Thank you! And how did you tell that it was mature? It seemed small compared to my last scorpion. | |

| What do you do if a scorpion gets mycosis? Is there a treatment? | |

| make sure there is enough ventilation in the tank. This helps prevent mould too. I would suggest having a slight "dry out" period but I dont know. If its got it, its got it and nothing now can be done about that since there are no creams you can apply to make it go away. | |

| mycosis gets worse, or it just stays. there isn't anything you can do to treat it.
also, you can tell iy an Emp is mature or not by the colour of it's telson. deep chestnut red = mature. cream or pure white/ light brown = immature.
