| Hi everyone,I just got a new female today (Nightshade).I did like everyone here says took out Midnight rearanged the tank mixed the coca fibers up(added some more too),got another hide.Theres 4 total in the tank now.
The Problem is she is extreamly aggressive with him.She started tryin to pinch and sting him right away when they first met.He still hasnt really gone after her.But he has started with the crazy twitches ever since they first met.She hasnt done any twitching at all.(is it something only males do?).
Anyway do you guys think they will start to be friendly with eachother over time,or am I going to have to seperate them?? How long should I give them togeather? Should I split up the fights? Im just worried I'll wake up with one of them hurt bad or worse....
I'll have some pics up in a little bit.Dont want to bother her with a photo session right now =o) lol

| If they are still alive NOW...try not to worry. if a battle to the death was going to happen they would have got into that fight by now. Just hang a while and wait and see. Sounds to me like he was trying to mate with him...give them a bit more time xxxxxxxx | |

As for the battle to the death. It seems she might have been trying thats how aggressive she was being, but the male seemed much more defensive not attacking just trying to get her to stop. Right now they are in thier own hides.Everything is nice and calm.Im ganna try and stay up tonight so I can watch them to see how they act to eachother.I really hope they get along eventually.

| don't worry it happens every time I'm kinda new to the communal tank but i have 4 in one and they all had a fight like that. They even flipped a hide right over after a few hours they mellow out and soon you.ll look under the hide and find them sleeping on top of each other.
after the first initial fight the fighting usually is over and the best advice i got from hear was there no need to worry there immune to there own species venom

| I witnessed a couple small fights from my two female emperors that I house communally. They're both fine The other day my big emp was climbing on the fake plant and her tail was wiggling around, so the other one came out and started pinching it | |

| As everyone has said, things tend to calm down fairly quick. Just keep a close eye on them the next day or two.
As for the "crazy twitches," it's called juddering and only males do that. It could have been a courtship response.

| They seem to have "worked things out".When I woke up the male was in the front of the females hide sleeping with her in the back of it.
Thanks for the right term for the "crazy twitching" =o) Yeah I dont know much about it since it is the first time I've seen 2 scorps togeather but I really think it was a courtship response, but thats just a noobs take on it =o)
Anyway thanks for everyones input and help, you guys rock.

| I don't think a little territorial scuffle counts as "fighting." | |

| lol Ok.
just another update.after the female got her drink in the last pic she went of into the big hide and dug the huge burrow I talked about.
The male went into one of the smaller hides and started to clean himself, putting his chela into his chelicerae.I was like omg dont eat yourself lol.I had no clue what was going on until I just sat and watched for a second.I think watching my scorp clean himself rates up there with watching them eat lol.
I have a little bit of video I took while I watched him.I'll get it on my youtube site soon.
