| from this to this they are now 2(ish) weeks old i guess that they are all 2 instar, there are no 1 instars left and its proboably to early for 3 instar. is there a discernable difference? the mother has eaten at least once but i have not seen the babies eat, should they be eating by now? when do they come off the mother? i think that they are all still alive but have not been able to get a good count as she is mostly hidden. | |

| you'll notice them getting larger, I've got a tub with 3i's/4i's, the 4i's are clearly larger than the 3i's. and darker, too. you'll see them coming off the mother soon, mabye just a few at first, but they will still rely on mum for protection. if you take the lid off and they get startled, they will run too her and she may rear up in a threat posture. it's cute. | |

| After they all wander off mom, they're ready to separate. When they fluoresce under a blacklight then they're hardened and should be able to take prey.
It will be a looooonnng time before you see any 3Is showing up. There's a picture showing the difference near the top of my blog (link in sig).

| moved to general scorpion section as these are hadogenes babies and not pandinus imperator.
They will come off mums back when ready. When they come off her back they can be separated. after a few days then offer some food. I would suggest headless crickets to start with, just to let their confidence build up and then offer live food the next week.
Good luck with these little guys

| Great and good luck!
It would be cool if you could put up a breeding report as I now have some of these and any information would be useful.

| This was in the emps section and I didn't notice? Bad admin! No biscuit! Kuma, there's already one report available for this species (but another wouldn't hurt ). | |

| lol well done on the babies As mike said there will be some considerable time passing before they get to 3i, and thats with a healthy apatite! Just when you think they are ready to go to 3i, looking as fat as a blimp, they will still eat and are still a while off 3i! I think mine were something like 9 mths on after their 2i shed before they sloughed again. Personally I never used pre kill, they seemed to go for live crix pretty well to start off with... chasing them in fact But not every scorpion is the same so play that one by ear | |
