Hi everyone, just wanted to give you all an update on the babies.
I believe 18 is the final count. They have all molted fine and are off moms back.they will be 2 weeks old on Monday. I was wondering is this a good time to get them some pinhead's to eat?and is it still once a week for babies?
Anyway here's a couple vids I took. The first one is a quick video of the babies literaly hanging out upside down on the ceiling of the burrow. The second one shows off the split tank and the burrow

Nice vids and setup you got there
I believe that when their exo's harden up you can feed them ~once a week. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think she is looking for food.Mistaking him for possible prey.
Im going to go get some crickets tomorrow morning...The female hasnt eatin in a month she has been in feed me pose outside burrow since last night.
Everytime she gose back into the burrow the babies run to her and seem to check out her chelicerae to see if she has any food.THe pet store was closed today so all will be taken care of tomorrow....Hopefully I'll have some good first meal videos to share =o)

These babies are so cute omg lol.I remember reading here someone said 3I and 4I are very impressive.
Well I cant wait because these little 2I's are just amazing...I used an adult cricket to lure mom out of the burrow to put her over with the male so I could get the smaller crickets into the burrow.
Right after I got the mom moved over to the other side of the tank I noticed an adult cricket heading into the burrow.I looked in and about 8 babies swarmed the cricket....It was a Massacre lol. They were all pinching and stinging like mad.
In the video you will see the final stages of the big group ripping the adult cricket apart and fighting over the remains lol.

haha thats so cool lil scavengers! Wish mine would pop, starting to think she's just a grumpy fatty Could you see the embryos on the emperor before she popped? If so how long before? I cant see any but I find it hard to think she's just fat she only ate one cricket in past 2+ months, and I think she only killed it if I can remember that far back..
Wish she'd make a burrow where I could see into it like that, is there any tricks to doing that? Sorry for all the questions

I honestly didnt check for embryos. My scorp poped 6 months in,I read all over the net gestation is between 9 to 19 months so I never even botherd to check.
If she's only had 1 cricket in the last 2 months Im sure she's gravid.
I just got lucky with the burrow (real lucky) lol every other burrow they made I count see anything.I been told that if you start a burrow for them at the side of the tank they might dig it out the rest of the way to suit them.
Im sure some of the more knowledgeable people here might be of more help.
Glad you liked me vids =o)

Emps have quite thick membranes, so embryos are much harder to see (if they're visible at all) than with smaller species.

All scorpions are capable of fasting for months at a time -- however, if she has GAINED weight while fasting (and / or drinks lots of water), I'd suspect gravid.

I always feed my 2I's headless crickets for a while and 100% When they hit 3I I let them deal with the situation and as you have seen they are very fast and know how to protect themselves
