just been looking on mes scorpions and there are quite a few that have yellow legs.

It's weird because under the camera the colour looks red-black, but in natural light they have that emperor look to them

Wow, two het species I've never heard of. Nice! cheers

The only one I know of with yellow legs is H. swammerdami, and you'd know if that's what it was 'cause they're massive.

naah these yellow legs aint massive. they are about 10-11 cm length approx.

I'm going to do a proper 'photoshoot' of these as soon as i can so i can get pictures sent to jan ove etc etc to try and get a positive ID.

Hoping Alex will be able to help on these Smile

they are too big to be the xanthopus. the female is 10cm.
After going through mes scorpions... which seems to have really good descriptions, I think they are madraspatensis after all. I thought the peds were larger from the pictures i have seen on the net but since the peds were closer to the camera lens that may have distorted visual proportions.

All the other 'yellow leg' het species are smaller. And there's about 2(?) of those species that are sexually dimorphic by the peds. and one of those scorps were far to small to be these.

So madraspatensis they appear to be. Pretty cool looking het Smile

And as for the baccaloniae, that was only discovered 2004. Up until I received it today I had never heard of them. A fantastic addition to our 'rarer' side of the collection

They Are mainly a Tarantula site but there are quite a few people with scorpions. We are members.

They do have a classified and an auction part of the site as well, always worth a check to see if a private breeder has something you want for ya collection
