| no its not the one in the link, the carapace is different in colour and markings and its slightly paler.
We got them from lee at the spider shop, and he's usually spot on with the species coz he's a complete tarantula nut! we've posted them on BTS where the tarantula boffins are and no one has its not haplopelma.
What did you think it was?

| Looks like a H.hainanum with having the orangish spinnerettes, the only other one that has them I beleive is the schmidtei. but you peeps on the other side of the pond get everything before we do. | |

| very similar to the Hainanum earth tiger must say... Stigg said it has something to do with the leg length ratio's, they dont fit the Hainanum earth tiger. Stigg had a very in depth conversation with Lee from the spider shop who himself did as much research on these before he sold them. once they have mated and the male chokes it were sending him off to Volker von worth to get him examined and hopefully... described | |

| If it's totally new to science, you should get to name it. I suggest: Haplopemla nexexterra (Baines, 2008) Roughly translates as "death from the ground" | |

| sorry to ressurect this again but had to announce the good news, stigg managed to ID these beauties.... they are Haplopelma Vonworthi And as a further update.... the female is looking rather fat in the abdomen department, fingers still crossed but the mating appears to have been successful. After spending about 2-3 weeks outside of her burrow she has finally gone back underground so we are hoping this is a good sign And the male, still going strong with one leg missing and another leg lame! Eating really well and apart from the leg issue he is doing really well. Makes a racket on a night time running marathons around his tank. We are keeping the females tank dryish until 1st week of december when we will start misting again and hopefully encourage her to make an egg sack. Apparently the stimulation from a dry season to a wet season springs their egg sack making Will update again in december... keep ya fingers crossed | |

| Update... again!
Female was out in full view tonight. on the front of the tank all stretched out.
SHE HAS STRETCHMARKS!!!!! LMAO! And the book lungs are more pronounced with her swelling size, almost gaping open.
And she is more skittish, before she would go on the attack when we put crickets in or do maintenance with the assistance of tongs... now she runs a mile.
So all is still looking good.
As for the male... he needs another female lol. Every night he is drumming on the side of his enclosure and his sperm bulbs are leaking... horney little thing hahaha!
