| Red-bellied piranhas are the only potentially dangerous species . . . although only three would probably just give you a few bad nips before you got out of the water. | |

| yeah but its been proven that they dont have any interest in eating people, and the bites that are received are mainly fishermen who catch them for food. i saw somethingrecently this guy went in a tank with them all skin covered, gave them a leg of lamb to get them excited then replace it with his own skin and they didnt want it at all lol oh and that was done with red bellies lol | |

| There are actually a few meaner species of piranha and yes they are red bellies. It looks like only two are going to make it which poses territorial issues. These guys won't hesitate to "taste" you if you stick your finger in and blood throws them into a frenzy. | |

| I think only 2 of them are going to pull through. Oh well they are in a 55 gallon so I guess I don't want a whole lot but 3 would be nice. I'm still trying to learn this whole fish keeping thing. Not much like keeping scorpions. | |

| If you want some interesting fish that grow very large try Snake Heads, now those are viscious, they will kill just to kill and they get over 3' long and to boot there a labryinth fish (air-breathers like bettas)so you dont even need that much airation or filtration.. | |

nope. most fish swim about, look for food, attack each other. pirahnas tend to just float about and do nothing. | |

| snakehead fish are illegal because some braindead idiot released a load of baby ones that they didnt have space for and one was caught (aparently) and the poofy govement declared that "it is a mutant demonic invasion that will destroy civilization because these fish eat people...." | |

| from what I was told, fishhead were imported from Asia and introduced into our waters at some point. Now Florida and some other bording states have a big problem with them. My uncle said that it was actually illegal to put them back in the water if you catch one and its illegal to keep as a pet. | |
