| Hello Everyone! I'm new to the fourms and newish to the hobby, I'm looking for help IDing A juvenile Scorpion that was sold to me as a P. imperator, but a friend of mine swears up and down her telson is the wrong color and she is more likely a Red Claw or Asian Forest Scorpion. I've had her about 5 months now and would like to get another, though knowing what I have should help things! Also though I keep referring to her as a female to be honest I have no idea what sex she is, I snapped a pic of her pectines but I'm not sure if she's too young to properly sex or if I'm just not well versed enough to tell! Any help would be much appreciated!

| Welcome to the forum! I can't see the pictures for some reason. In all likelihood your friend is probably correct; emps are becoming pretty scarce these days. But I can't confirm until I see the pics. Best, Collin | |

| Sigh, it seems dropbox has failed me yet again, sorry about that! I've tried to update the links but just get the message "New members are not allowed to post external links or emails for 7 days. Please contact the forum administrator for more information." I guess I'll just wait it out | |

| From how I figured out the gender of mine, the little feathers under them which they sense the ground with are shaped differently.
If there is a large gap in between the 2 pectines it's a female.
If there is a smaller gap and larger feathers, male. | |

| That is a young P. cavimanus. Dark telson (stinger...imperators are white to yellow) and not much granulation on the chela (claws)....but, she is female! ...males even at a young age have a large dent on their claws which is very visible. Nice scorp! | |
